About the ClubShepshed Taekwondo club was started in 2001 by the current instructor, Pat Shawcroft, who always aims to bring out the best in all his students, no matter what age or ability. Since the club began we have trained at several different locations around Shepshed and are currently based at St Botolph's Primary School (opposite Iveshead school). The club practices ITF style of Taekwon-do which originated in Korea in 1955. We also practice many self-defence techniques which compliment the taekwondo.
Since the club was first created, Mr Shawcroft has worked tirelessly to ensure his students are of a high standard, producing no less than twelve Black Belts in recent years (plus five 2nd Dan and a 3rd Dan). Despite the dedicated nature of the club, the class atmosphere is lively and fun and ensures that the students, both children and adults, enjoy themselves." Shepshed Taekwondo is a non-profit making club and this is reflected in our low fees and grading costs. This means we do not have any gimmicks to entice you to join such as a month's free training or a free suit (although we supply these at virtually cost price). We don't make you sign up to monthly direct debits to extract your cash, even if you miss a session or two. However, your first two sessions are free so you can come along to see what we do, and have a go. |
